Andy Update, July 2011: Little Andy started looking for a special home in October 2009. He and I had given up on finding him a home where he was (a) a single dog, or (b) lived with one other dog, figuring no one was interested in a little 3-legged dog with a big heart. Well, the little dickens has packed his suitcase to live with a nice couple, their son, and their 4 - yr old golden cross, Sandy in Sultan, WA! (Sandy and Andy....sounds like trouble to me!) He 'found' his home while staying with friends for a weekend - the couple (relatives to my freinds) brought their dog for the weekend (Camp TriDeb is what I've dubbed it), and Andy fell for the wife....and she for him. So, off he goes on a trial honeymoon -- with his suitcase of favorite toys, food, and his crate.... I'll miss you, little man - Enjoy and be happy in your new home! (You can come home anytime -- even if it's just for grooming or a weekend - an offer extended to any of my dogs!)

According to the website his name was found on, "Andvari" was a Norse treasure guardian. Andy is a lovely, lively and very smart boy. He is from my first litter, and well on his way to achieving his Canadian Champion title. Andy is also in obedience training toward competing for his CD and Rally titles. Andy had a good formal retrieve in just a few months, and understood metal scent articles in 5 weeks. Leather articles are taking a bit longer, but soon it will 'click' and he'll be doing just as well with them. September, 2005: Andy was side-lined from showing and training due to a serious injury. He disliked being confined and activities limited. You can read about his surgery and more importantly, his rehabilitation on this website. Andy's surgeon, Dr. Munjar in Portland,OR, performed surgery on Andy's left patella. It took several months of very slow going (5 to be exact) before Andy was released to go back to normal activities and jumping. The week following his release to full activity, Andy was shown in Rally Obedience, Advanced A class, and earned his first Advanced leg.
