The pups have had their 8-week evaluation. They did very well on the long ride, sleeping most of the time. :-) Sleeping puppies are good puppies!

1 week shy of 4 months old.

His puppy coat is very wild, takes a bit of daily grooming, which he enjoys. There's always a treat after grooming, sometimes partway through the session too. Brushing and combing takes about 15 minutes.

Playing with his brother - they are very 'fierce'! :-)

Lance, 14 weeks old.

He's turning into a lovely boy!

Lance will probably be approximately 10.5" tall.

Lance is smart, and has inherited the willingness to learn behaviors from his sire and dam (and those willing workers behind them in the pedigree), and does so with enthusiasm. We started on finding heel this week, which is a fun game for a puppy to start with.

He is scheduled for his final puppy vaccination mid-July.

He can sit, down, spin, twist with food lure, and walk on lead with encouragement. He enjoys learning!

This puppy to date has taken everything in stride without being bothered by noises, sights, other dogs and people. He's gone to training class and watched the class, been handled by others, met new dogs of just about all sizes, gone to pet stores and parks. Housetraining is coming along. He sleeps all night in his crate (from 10:30 pm to approximately 4:30-5:00 am), eats well (he loves food). He crates easily, and will let you know when he needs to go out.

His schedule: Outside at 4:30 - 5:00 am; have breakfast, and out again between 6:00-6:15. Evening schedule: Outside at 4:15 - 4:30 pm, dinner about 5:00 pm, and then outside every couple hours till bedtime, with 'last call' at 10:00 - 10:30. He will adjust to a different schedule with time.

Food: Eukanuba Naturally Wild Venison/Potato, he does very well on. Lamb leg bones for chewing on. Training treats: Pet Botanics food rolls, cut up small.

He's had his second puppy vaccination as of 6/18. The vet did not find a second 'family jewel', but it was present at 8 weeks. All else was normal on his exam.

For the above photo - he was just put onto the table and he held the pose while several photos were taken. He's got a good working brain, figures things out quickly. He enjoys meeting people - he'd be a good therapy dog prospect, and would enjoy a positive training basic obedience class and rally obedience class.

He enjoys recycling lightweight cardboard boxes...so if you don't mind giving him a box, he'll rip it up. (He doesn't do brooms or vacuums, though...he leaves that to 'his staff'.)

I'm Lance! (Firerose Life in the Fast Lane)

(Finally, I've been given a name!)

I am the puppy who is looking for a home as a beloved family pet.

I enjoy attention, have started lead training, and am learning sit, down, spin, twist, and come when called. I sleep all night in my own crate, love my meals (but I'm not fat because I like to play!). I ride really well in the car.

Mom wants me to be someone's pet (I will probably not get much over 10 to 10.5" tall - at 12 weeks old, I am 8" tall and growing!).

I am not looking for a serious performance home, but mostly a lap to cuddle in (I love people!), go to classes, and go for walks, and do rally obedience. I might be good at being a therapy dog because I like people!

I was born 3-11-2010, and mom says I will be 'ready' to leave about 13-14 weeks of age (after two vaccinations and microchip implant).

My second vaccination is scheduled for mid-June. :-)
