The pups continue to expand their universe. They ride very well in the car and motorhome. The longest ride they have had to date is 45-60 minutes. Their next big ride will be about 4 hours each way. Photos below taken between 6-1/2 and 7-1/2 weeks.

4/25: Both puppies demonstrated a a nicely retrieved a ball of paper several times outdoors, even when it was tossed between two balls placed about 16" apart (6-1/2 weeks old).

4/24, the puppies went to another building where I volunteer to help with therapy dog testing. The pups were great: No whining or noise-making, no concerns exhibited, slept most of the time, and readily woke up to be held and petted by the other volunteers and have their lunch. They were penned next to a Labrador, Chessie and a Golden. They are doing very well on the outings!

The pups at 6 weeks: exploring, enjoying wrestling with each other, learning bite inhibition from their mother, and learning the rules of becoming young dogs. They love going outdoors to play with / tag-along with the other adults. (They are not so fond of rain, though...) Puppy 1 so far seems to have no concerns about life; Puppy 2 is cautious. Both pups love following me around and trying to 'catch' my feet by grabbing onto the hem of my jeans. They took their first solo walk outside the pen in the big wide world and without a lead, up a little hill and back.

The puppies went on their first big outing this week: they were in attendance at rally obedience practice. They were socialized by rally friends, and took a good nap after all the attention. The pups also planned an escape - they figured out how to climb the ex-pen! They will be attending rally practice regularly and start going on other outings. They were situated by a 10-week old Cardigan Corgi pup, Emma, and viewed Guinness, a Doxie, Nakohe, a Newfie, and 2 adult Corgis - Cricket, a Pem and Jasper, a Cardi on the rally course.

6 week weights: Puppy #1 (black spot on his back) - 27.2 oz and Puppy #2, 29.4 oz.
